NBA Star Lebron James of the Miami Heat arrived in the country Monday night around 5:45pm, just as President Benigno Aquino III was wrapping up his State of the Nation Address. James stole some of the spotlight on President Aquino as Twitter started to be flooded with thousands of tweets about his arrival.

Arriving onboard a private jet sponsored by Nike, Lebron and his entourage went straight to Shangri-La Hotel in Makati where he awaited his busy Tuesday schedule.

Early Tuesday, James held a press conference at the Shangri-La Hotel in Makati City, and made an appearance at the Nike Park at the Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City around 2pm. Next, he did a meet-and-greet with basketball fans at the Mall of Asia Arena at 4pm.

Nike, which sponsored James’ first visit to the country, gave away about 4,000 tickets for the event last week. Thousands of fans lined up for two days to get the tickets.

"So far so great, it’s a great place to be here," James said. "This is very overwhelming. I can’t believe this is my first time here. Definitely, it’s not going to be my last."

Here are some pictures to summarize the visit:
