Filipino Adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland" Now Playing Every Weekend in Metro Manila

The Rep Theater for Young Audiences (or the Rep Children's Theater) 

in Metro Manila, Philippines is now presenting a musical theater adaptation of Lewis Carroll's classic 1865 novel, "Alice in Wonderland" which was originally released as a Disney movie in 1951. The Filipino production by director Joy Virata and assistant director Liesl Batucan is already receiving rave reviews.

Starring an all-Filipino cast, including actresses Dani Gana and Chaye Mogg as Alice, the show officially opened on August 17, 2013 and will run every weekend until December 15, 2013 at Onstage Theater, 2/F, Greenbelt 1 Mall, Paseo de Roxas cor. Legazpi St., Makati City in the Metro Manila area.

"As far as I’m concerned, this is like an opera," the director says. "This version has more music in it than dialogue. The story is told through the music, so it’s unique. Alice in Wonderland is an incredible feast for your eyes, eyes and heart that will captivate audiences of all sizes. An adventure the whole family can enjoy."
